It’s Caturday and while everyone’s abuzz about Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan as his running mate, our TV addled brains are fixated on some very different news: Sony is planning an ALF movie. In CGI. Yeah, really. From EW:
A representative for SPA confirms that the film is currently being planned as a mix of live-action and CGI — similar to the studio’s silver-screen renovation of The Smurfs, which grossed over $500 million last year.
We’re not sure which prospect is more disturbing—a CGI Alf or that The Smurfs made that much money. We LOVED ALF when we were kids, but unless he’s battling laser cats on the planet Melmac, we’re going to sit this one out.
